The private mining companies can be serious partners of Gasprom in resolution of the problems facing the gas branch of Russian economy. The first assistant to the leader of Oil and gas company ITERA Gennady Skidanov declared at the second Russian oil-and-gas congress in Moscow.
According to him, ITERA has already invested over $1.5 billion to gas extraction companies. The company has paid over $4 billion to Gasprom for gas-transport services. "It is considerable contribution to the maintenance and development of gas-transport system", Skidanov noted.
At the same time, the first assistant to the Head of ITERA paid attention to the obstacles constraining activity of the extracting companies in gas sphere. As an example, he named refusal of Gasprom to connect the Beregovoe field with gas pipeline. According to the speaker, if obstacles constraining activity of the extracting companies in gas sphere are not eliminated in the near future, their investment opportunities will find better use in more profitable projects.
