ITERA Oil and Gas Company to sponsor the Flight of Hope project

ITERA International group of companies head office, Moscow. A meeting of Mr. Valery Otchertsov, Chairman of the Management Board of ITERA Oil and Gas company, Mr. Alexander Ermakov (YANAO, Russia), and Mr. George Archibald, President of International Crane Foundation (Wisconsin, US) was held. The meeting resulted in a decision that ITERA should act as a general sponsor of the Flight of Hope project.

According to Mr. Alexander Ermakov, President of the Yamal Sterkh Foundation, the decision on general sponsorship was a result of a long and fruitful cooperation of the Foundation and ITERA. The essence of Flight of Hope unique project is accompanying of a flock of white Siberian cranes brought up in a farm, from their nesting place in the Yamal region (Russia) to wintering places in Iran by an extra light “Poisk – 06 – Sterkh” motor-glider aircraft. The migration way is about 5,500 km long. Thus, the “Poisk – 06 – Sterkh” motor-glider has got an airworthiness certificate and it took part in MAKS-2005 International Aerospace Fair. ITERA helped the Sterkh Foundation to construct this unique aircraft.
