OAO Gazpromgeofizika, one of the leaders of geophysical services in Russia, won the tender on geophysical support of the drilling of a 5,000 meter-deep well drilling on Priyutnenskoye license area in Kalmykia.
Under a contract with OAO Yugneftegaz, an ITERA Oil and Gas Company subsidiary, the experts of Astrakhangazgeophizika, an industrial branch of Gazpromgeofizika, are going to carry on geophysical and geotechnological exploration and drilling. Gazpromgeofizika has been chosen due to its unique expertise and experience in monitoring super deep and geotechnologically complicated construction of well.
The Prijutnenskaya area well is considered to be quite a complicated one. Its specific thermobaric conditions (160°C at 100 MPa) and a large well depth (5,000 meters) demand special facilities and technologies. This is the reason for the Russian companies participation in the project. Drilling and its geophysical support will be carried out by two subsidiaries of OAO Gazprom: Burgaz LLC and OAO Gazpromgeofizika.
