Archbishop Vikenty made a rite of laying the first stone a new Yekaterinburg chapel, named in honor of the Holy Mother ‘Undrinkable Bowl’ icon.
A chapel in honor of the Holy Mother ‘Undrinkable Bowl’ icon will be erected soon near the John the Precursor Cathedral in Yekaterinburg. Vikenty, the Archbishop of Yekaterinburg and Verkhotursk, made a rite of laying the first stone its foundation on Holy Mother festal day.
ITERA Oil and Gas Company will fund the new chapel construction, as it was the case with the Spiritual and Educational Center, almost completed in the territory of the Eparchy Administration. Mr. Vladimir Konstantinovitch Kuzyushin, General Director of Uralsevergaz company, one of the enterprises that belong to the holding, attended the solemn ceremony of laying of the foundation stone.
The Archbishop thanked the benefactors for their efforts to construct the Spiritual and Educational Center. According to Archbishop, the event was of a significance to the city: something done today had to have been done long ago: a water consecration chapel would have been erected in the territory of John the Precursor Church.
The new building will adorn the square in front of John the Precursor Cathedral. Here public water consecration prayers, Epiphany holy water consecration, and the services in front of the Holy Mother ‘Undrinkable Bowl’ icon will be held.
A giant reservoir with 14 taps will be provided for holy water. Archbishop Vikenty said that water consecration chapels of the kind were appear in other Yekaterinburg parishes soon.
