ITERA contributes to restoration of one of the oldest Moscow bell towers by Easter

The Church of Nativity of Blessed Virgin at Old Simonovo, accommodating the remnants of venerable monks Alexandr Peresvet and Andrey Oslyabya, the heroes of Kulikovo Field battle, has regained its bell tower. Meanwhile, a freshly gilded dome with the cross on top is to shine in a month’s time.

Resulting from Peresvet Orthodox Charity and ITERA efforts, the famous bell-tower and porch reconstruction is about to finish. The majestic dome and the cross have already been installed, and restorers will proceed with gold plating as soon as the cross is consecrated.

“The restoration work is important and really fascinating”, - Nadezhda Panasenko, a foreman says. “People are putting their souls into work and feel involvement into a sacred process and into the Russian history, which all of us should be proud of. The project is based on the archive documentation and we strictly follow it”.
