The first official visit of President Putin will last one day but the schedule is extremely tight.
President Putin is to arrive in Algerian capital before noon. Abdelaziz Buteflika, President of Algeria, will meet him at the airport.
“The leaders will have a private discussion that is expected to take one hour, and then negotiations will be held with all the members of both delegations”, - Sergey Prikhodko, Russian President Councilor said. According to him, the protocol signing ceremony will take place after the negotiations.
The agenda also includes a working lunch hosted by Buteflika and a wreath laying ceremony at the Revolution Hero’s Grave.
“Strengthening of multidimensional relations with Algeria, based on the principles of mutual respect, equality and reciprocal benefit, serves for long-term interests of our peoples and represents an important stability factor both on regional and international scale”, - Mr. Prikhodko said. “Traditions of friendship between the two countries and peoples” and “accelerating bilateral cooperation in various spheres” are “the solid basis” of the relationship. Large joint projects are being implemented in Algeria. Such Russian companies as “Trubnaya Metallurgicheskaya companiya” and “Stroytransgaz” have been working successfully for a long time”, - Russian President Advisor reminded.
As Mr. Prikhodko told, President Putin will be accompanied by Igor Ivanov, Security Council Secretary; Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Relations; Vladimir Yakovlev, Regional Development Minister who is co-director of intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation with Algeria; Mikhail Dmitriev, Military and Technical Cooperation Federal Service Director; Mikhail Margelov, Chief of Federation Council International Relations Committee; Murat Zyazikov, President of Ingush Republic.
“A number of Russian businessmen have joined the delegation since Russian business is interested in cooperation with Algeria and it has several projects”, - President’s Advisor said. Among the businessmen he named Vagit Alekperov (Lukoil); Andrey Kozmin (Sberbank), Viktor Lorents (Stroitransgas), Alexey Miller (Gazprom); Igor Makarov (ITERA); Mikhail Pogosyan (“Suhoi”); Dmitry Poumpyansky (Trubnaya Metallurgicheskaya companiya); Oleg Demchenko (NPK “Irkut”); Alexey Feodorov (MiG); Sergey Cheremezov (Rosoboronexport), Vladimir Yakunin (Russian Railroads).
