Itera hopes to launch Beregovoye field shortly

The Itera Oil & Gas Company hopes to have the Beregovoye oil and gas field (in the Yamalo-Nenets autonomous region) put into operation in October 2006, Deputy CEO of Itera and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sibneftegaz Sergei Vorobyov told RBC today. He said having the field connected to gas transportation networks as soon as possible was in the interests of both Sibneftegaz and Gazprom. He said the field was ready, with no technical problems.
It will be possible to start working on the Beregovoye Field only after Gazprombank completes the acquisition of 51 percent of Sibneftegaz. A relative agreement was signed between Itera and Gazprombank on June 29. All legal procedures are about to be finalized and the deal is to be completed in September.
