Gazprom, Sonagas, the national gas company of Equatorial Guinea and Suntera, the Russian-Indian company signed the Memorandum of Understanding. According to the press-service of the Russian gas holding, the document was signed during the visit of Gazprom delegation to Equatorial Guinea. The parties agreed to continue consultations on cooperation shortly.
Prospects for expanded cooperation between Gazprom and Guinea in oil and gas areas were discussed during the talks. In particular, the parties discussed a possibility for the gas holding and Suntera joint participation in the development of gas infrastructure, generation of electricity and production of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in the Gulf of Guinea area and personnel training programs.
Sonagas is involved in projects related to production, processing and transportation of gas and LNG. Suntera is a private company incorporated by ITERA Oil and Gas Company and Sun Energy Resources Ltd. of India. This joint venture implements oil and gas projects in Africa, Asia and Northern America.
