Edward Rossel, the Governor of Sverdlovk region had a routine meeting on February 2 with General Director/Chairman of the Management Board of ITERA Oil and Gas Company, Vladimir Makeev and General Director of Uralsevergas, Vladimir Kuzyushin. The issues discussed were gas supply and gasification of the region, implementation of various projects in energy, gas chemical, construction and other sectors.
Vladimuir Makeev underlined that the company has been successfully fulfilling its obligations in gas supplies and gasification of Sverdlovsk region in the framework of long-term cooperation agreement. ITERA has been fully and continuously satisfying constantly growing demands of quickly developing economy and social life sector of the region. The consumers in Central Urals received 18.8 BBCM of gas in 2006. This year it is intended to supply 19.5 BBCM of gas. The construction projects in 2006 included 15 gas boilers, 128 km of gas pipelines. This year it is planned to build 16 boilers and 183 km of gas pipelines.
The administration of ITERA and Uralsevergas informed Edward Rossel of the progress in energy projects being implemented in Sverdlovsk region in agreement with large industrial companies.
The participants of the meeting discussed the plans for constructing a woodworking plant, gas chemical facility in Nizhni Tagil, Forum-Center representative complex, and the opportunity to build-up a residential area 'VIZ-Pravoberezhny' in Yekaterinburg, as well as other projects.
Edward Rossel stressed the importance of proactive gasification activity especially in rural areas, introduction of resource-saving technology and equipment, increase of energy safety in the region.
