Itera-Invest-Stroi of ITERA International Group of companies has won tenders to construct two hippodromes in Turkmenistan.
The company’s proposal to construct the facilities that would meet world standards has been considered the best one. It has been approved by a Decree of the President of Turkmenistan. They shall be constructed based on a public contract in Balkanskiy and Lebapskiy velayats (provinces) of the Republic at an area of 51.5 ha each.
Hippodrome complexes are expected to become the sites of the most picturesque national events in the regional cities of Turkmenistan. According to the design, the facilities will accommodate stands for 3000 visitors and race-courses for horse racing. Each hippodrome shall be equipped with four stables and a swimming-pool for 200 horses, training courts, veterinary-laboratory facilities, a dope test center and buildings for economic and technical care for animals. An amphitheater, tent-pavilions and a banquet restaurant shall be constructed to serve holiday events.
First horse races in the new hippodromes are planned for late 2010.
Itera-Invest-Stroi acts as a main contractor for three more large projects in Turkmenistan. The Company is constructing an office center for ITERA International Group of companies in Ashkhabad, a hotel in the Avaza Caspian Sea shore resort zone and a sports complex with a stadium for ten thousand seats in Turkmenabad to be open on the New Year 2009 eve.
