“Farman Salmanov”, a book about a legendary geologist, released

2009-08-07 Published: IA REGIONS.RU

The “Farman Salmanov” book has been published. It provides a detailed life story of an outstanding ascetic pioneer of Western Siberia, who discovered over 150 fields of hydrocarbons. They allowed for the development of the powerful fuel and energy complex of the country.

Farman Salmanov graduated from the Geological Exploration Faculty of the Azerbaijanian Industrial Institute. He had made a stormy fame road of the pioneer of the largest oil and gas reserves. He was a legend during his life. His famous colleagues praised him as a "hopeless romantic" who had made "anything possible and impossible to help develop and strengthen the economy of the country, which contemporary Russia is proud of".

The book was written and published with financial and creative assistance by ITERA, an oil and gas company.  Farman Kurbanovich Salmanov, hero of socialist labor, Lenin prize winner and Gubkin prize winner used to work for the Company as a consultant to its Chairman of the Board of Directors and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Yugneftegaz, LLC, in his last years.
