A charitable bicycle race in support of children who suffer Down's syndrome was completed in Moscow on August 22. This event with an aim of financial assistance to such children development programs, attracted attention of public and press. About 200 representatives of business, public organizations, prominent journalists, workers of culture and healthcare took part in this 140 kilometers-long Moscow – the Kaluga Region – Moscow race.
The participants in the race were welcomed by handshakes and flowers at the finish line near the Kremlin wall in front of Spasskaya Tower. Participants in the bicycle race cheerfully applauded boys and girls with Down's syndrome who made a bicycle journey at Vassiliyevsky Slope. ITERA gave children presents and then they saw a celebratory concert by professional performers.
Igor Makarov, President of the Federation of Bicycling of Russia, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ITERA Oil and Gas Company, LLC, said that "bicycling was a notable area of human activities". He welcomed organizers of the event who elected "bicycling as a method of this noble event".
According to the Press Service of ITERA Oil and Gas Company, it was not the first year where the Company sponsored the Dowside-up Charitable Foundation.
